About ENO Baylis | ENO Baylis announces three exciting strands of activity for Autumn 2007. Baylis Interactive offers a whole new way for audiences to access and participate in the life of ENO. A new website will closely follow selected productions via blogs and rehearsal footage and will enable audiences to interact with artists and Company staff. Baylis Live offers a variety of events giving further insight into ENO’s programme. We continue our highly popular Family Events and Know the Show for non-professional singers, while our Autumn Talks programme features an array of speakers including Laurence Cummings, Mary Beard and Roger Parker. We will also continue our creative relationship with communities in the London boroughs of Westminster and Lambeth, enabling local residents to participate in ENO’s work. Baylis Training will extend the range of training opportunities offered by ENO including a new course for aspiring singers and the development of our youth programme, run in collaboration with St Marylebone School. For anyone interested in a career in technical theatre we are co-presenting a special open day with the Theatre Royal Haymarket. About ENO Baylis ENO Baylis is ENO’s education and outreach department. Established in 1985, ENO Baylis is named after Lilian Baylis, the pioneering theatre manager whose vision of accessible opera led to the founding of ENO. ENO Baylis offers opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience and enjoy opera at ENO. Last year 11,000 people took part in ENO Baylis projects and for many of these this was their first experience of opera. All ENO Baylis initiatives are led by professional artists. These include ENO company singers and orchestra members as well as composers, writers, directors and designers who are experienced in encouraging non-professionals to get involved in singing, composing, performing or other aspects of opera. The ENO Baylis team is: Catherine Sutton, Head of ENO Baylis; Mairi Coyle, Creative Producer; Katherine Palmer, Project Manager; Rachael Castell, Interactive Producer; Teresa Deacon, Administrator. | ENO Baylis, London Coliseum St. Martins Lane London WC2N 4ES email: baylis@eno.org tel. + 44 (0)20 7632 8484 fax +44 (0)20 7845 9443 |
