ENO Opera Works Laying the Foundation for a Career in Opera ENO Opera Works is an opera training course designed to equip professionally trained singers with the performance skills required to become fully rounded singer-actors. ENO Opera Works is aimed at singers who have completed their vocal training - either through the traditional conservatoire route or by studying privately - but are not ready for the national stage. The modular structure makes the course accessible to singers who are not based in London and enables students to continue working and developing a career alongside their training. The course aims to equip them with the necessary skills to meet the demands of working in opera today. The course is overseen by ENO Baylis and involves artists well known to ENO audiences – including the movement director Carolyn Choa, director Jo Davies, conductor Christian Curnyn, soprano Janis Kelly and baritone, Donald Maxwell. ENO Opera Works students also work closely with members of ENO’s Music Department, including Head of Music, Martin Fitzpatrick and Head of Casting, John McMurray. The closing date for applications is Friday 18 July. Auditions will take place in London in August.
