ENO is a leading producer of award winning opera. Through co-productions and rentals our distinctive work is seen by audiences worldwide. We are currently collaborating with over 20 international opera houses and festivals.

Our artistic partnership with the Metropolitan Opera, New York, has created three hugely successful co-productions in recent years, seen both in the UK and New York: Madam Butterfly directed by Anthony Minghella, John Adams’s Doctor Atomic, directed by Penny Woolcock and Philip Glass’s Satyagraha directed by Improbable. Many future productions, including three new commissions, are in development.

Le Grand Macabre which opened the 2009/10 Season was a four-way partnership and has been seen at La Monnaie Brussels and Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma and following the huge success at ENO will be performed at Gran Teatro del Liceu Barcelona in the future.

In the last year our work has also been seen at La Scala (Milan); La Monnaie (Brussels), and Theatre du Chatelet (Paris). Future appearances of our productions include Peter Grimes and L’Amour de loin at De Vlaasme Oper, Antwerp; Lucia di Lammermoor at Goteburg Opera, Sweden; Katya Kabanova at Teatro Nacional de Saos Carlos, Lisbon and Teatr Wielki-Opera Narodowa, and the Canadian Opera Company are presenting Lucia di Lammermoor, Boris Godunov and L’Amour de loin.
