Sing Hallelujah Event

In September 2009 ENO and the BBC launched Sing Hallelujah, a UK-wide project to encourage people to find their voice and discover the joy of singing through Handel’s famous ‘Hallelujah Chorus’.
As part of the many elements of the Sing Hallelujah, ENO and BBC worked together on two large-scale, free, singing events in City Halls, Glasgow, and the London Coliseum. With the help of singing facilitator, Sue Hollingworth, conductor, Laurence Cummings, and BBC Music Staff over 1,500 people over the weekend of 5/6 December joined together in learning and singing the ‘Hallelujah Chorus’. The final performances from both venues were recorded and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Sunday 6 December.
