In 1945 ENO staged the world premiere of Benjamin Britten’s Peter Grimes – one of the composer’s most moving and powerful works, and one of the most significant British operas in over two centuries. Nearly 70 years later, Britten’s work continues to play an important part in ENO’s repertoire.
After its sell-out original run in 2009, tonight (29 Jan) sees David Alden’s sensational production of Peter Grimes return to our stage.
An unmissable production that unleashes the opera’s thrilling power
Acclaimed international tenor Stuart Skelton once again sings the title role of troubled outsider Peter Grimes. We filmed Stuart singing an aria from the production during a break in rehearsals. Click on the trailer above to watch him sing "Now the Great Bear and Pleiades".
