Loretta Tomasi, English National Opera’s former Chief Executive has received an OBE for Services to Opera in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours 2013.
Loretta was Chief Executive of ENO from November 2005 to December 2013, having previously been Executive Director of ENO from May 2003 and led the company alongside current Artistic Director John Berry.
John Berry, Artistic Director of ENO commented: “I am delighted that Loretta’s contribution to the arts and her work at ENO has been recognised in this way. She has helped steer the company through some challenging times and helped us to build a national and international reputation for highly theatrical and dramatic opera that makes ENO so unique”.
Prior to joining ENO, Loretta was Managing Director and Finance Director of Really Useful Theatres (formerly Stoll Moss Theatres) for 12 years, which operated 13 theatres in London’s West End including the London Palladium and Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
