Watch this exclusive performance of Stuart Skelton singing 'God, the darkest hour' from Act II of Beethoven's Fidelio.
A regular performer on the international stage, Stuart is one of the finest tenors of his generation. Having first performed with ENO in 2006 as Laca in Jenufa, he later won critical acclaim in the title role of David Alden's 2009 production of Britten's Peter Grimes. 'Skelton's towering performance… perfectly combining human frailties with an edge of brutality' (The Guardian). Stuart returns to that role in our revival production next year.
Fidelio opens at ENO on 25 September 2013, with tickets starting at £12. You can find out more about the production, listen to audio extracts and watch a short film with director Calixto Bieito at eno.org/fidelio
