Amanda Roocroft sings Emilia Marty for the first time in the revival of Christopher Alden’s acclaimed production of Janáček’s The Makropulos Case

In recent seasons ENO has produced three critically acclaimed Janáček productions; this current cycle of Janáček operas representing an important part of the Company's work over the past four years. This is the first revival of Christopher Alden's acclaimed production of The Makropulous Case. It is conducted by one of the great Janáček conductors of the last 30 years, Sir Richard Armstrong, who leads an outstanding cast including Amanda Roocroft singing the role of Emilia Marty for the first time and Andrew Shore as Dr Kolenatý.
