giftaid
The Gift Aid programme, which replaced the Deed of Covenant Scheme, has been made simpler to allow any donation, no matter how small or large, to qualify for tax relief under Gift Aid. This applies only to pure donations (free of benefits) made by a UK taxpayer.

For example: if you give ENO a donation of £10, we can reclaim an extra £2.82 from the Inland Revenue.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer you can also benefit by claiming relief on the difference between the basic rate and higher rate of tax.

Charitable Trust or CAF voucher

You can make donations to ENO of any amount through a personal or corporate charitable trust or by CAF voucher. Any membership over £60 can also be paid for in this way.

Gifts of Quoted Shares and Securities

The latest changes to the rules on donating shares to charities offer donors an unprecedented opportunity to minimise their tax bill while maximising their donation to ENO.

For example: if you donate quoted shares worth £10,000, you can deduct this amount from your income for the tax year in which the gift is given, plus any costs of transferring the shares.

Payroll Giving

Supporting through your payroll remains one of the easiest and most tax-effective ways of giving. Donors who support ENO in this way do so through a monthly deduction from their salary at source. If your employer or pension provider operates a Payroll Giving scheme, you can immediately benefit from tax relief at your highest rate of tax against the value of your donation.

Companies can also encourage their employees to support the charitable sector by making donations direct from the payroll. This offers companies an opportunity to be associated with a charity while reflecting the company's own core values.

Company donations

Companies can now make charitable donations from untaxed income, i.e. subsequently claiming tax relief on the total donation when assessing their profits for corporation tax.
