At English National Opera, we make world-class, inspiring, and accessible opera available to everyone. Our talented Wigs and Makeup Specialists play vital part in bringing the artistic vision to life, and we are looking for a Wigs and Makeup Technician to join the team.

As a Wigs and Makeup Technician, you’ll be responsible for preparation, making, maintaining and dressing of wigs, hair and makeup and preparation of our artists before, during and after performances.  Working as part of a team, you’ll deliver sensitive interpretations of the creative brief, and employ your skills across all aspects of the craft.

To be successful in this role, you will have a wealth of experience built across different major producing houses. You’ll be proficient in all things wigs, including knotting, making, setting and dressing. We’re looking for someone who can combine that with skill in hairdressing and colouring and it’s a real bonus if you can apply these to classic period styles. You will also have experience of working with artists in dressing rooms, applying makeup and wigs and doing quick changes under time constraints.
