Claire Rutter


Claire Rutter is a renowned British soprano. She opens up her 2018/19 Season at ENO performing in Opera For All to mark 50 years of opera in residence at the London Coliseum.

Previously for ENO: Lucrezia Borgia, Tosca and Aida, as well as appearing on the ENO stage as Donna Anna Don Giovanni, Amelia, Elvira Ernani, Gilda Rigoletto and Violetta La traviata.



Career Highlights

Clare began her studies at the GSMD and later at the National Opera Studio where she was sponsored by ENO.

Notable engagements elsewhere: Tosca Tosca at Icelandic Opera and at WNO, where she also appeared as Leonora La forza del destino. Grange Park Opera, West Horsley, as Amelia Un ballo in maschera; title role Vanessa (Wexford Festival Opera); Mother L’enfant prodigue, the title role in La Gioconda (Malmö Opera); and Sieglinde Die Walküre (Grange Park Opera).
