This is an opportunity to join the newly formed, senior team of English National Opera, reporting directly to the Chief Executive who herself was recently appointed by the Board.
ENO is in the very early stages of a radical transformation and the new team will need to work seamlessly to deliver the business plan which will restore an iconic cultural asset to its rightful place in the national scene.
The Director of Marketing & Audience Engagement is responsible for profitable revenue generation for the company.
The role holder will develop and deliver a strategic marketing plan which identifies the target customers, specifies the requirements to delight them and finally, articulates the business case for doing so.
In addition, s/he will develop a communication plan to deliver the strategic objectives and ensure awareness and enthusiasm for our programmed with our target customers.

English National Opera are very proud to launch the application process for the third ENO Mackerras Fellowship. Starting from August 2016 (ENO’s 2016/17 season), the successful applicant will hold the position across two years (subject to annual review) to work and learn at the heart of ENO.
Throughout their time with the Company, he/she will be mentored by ENO’s Music Director Mark Wigglesworth, work closely with the Music Department (overseen by Director of Music Administration Carys Williams and Head of Music Martin Fitzpatrick), act as Assistant Conductor and off-stage conductor for selected ENO productions, contribute artistically to the ENO Baylis Programme (learning and participation), including ENO Opera Works, and assist and support the ENO Harewood Artists.
The Fellow will receive fees, a training bursary and a generous travelling allowance for visiting external companies. During the period of the Fellowship, outside engagements may be taken on with the approval of ENO. Applicants will be extremely gifted musicians who are proficient in English, preferably post-graduate music college educated, with some experience in opera.
