This Spring, ENO is launching ENO Screen, a new partnership with AltiveMedia which will see our critically-acclaimed production of Britten’s Peter Grimes and Terry Gilliam’s exciting new production of Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini broadcast live* to cinemas across the UK and Ireland and selected cinemas worldwide.
Shot in stunning multi-camera HD, ENO Screen will be as distinctive as ENO’s live work in the theatre, creating a unique cinematic experience for audience members across the globe.
David Alden’s award-winning Peter Grimes will be the first ENO production to be screened live to cinemas around the UK and worldwide - on Sunday 23 February*.
Conducted by Edward Gardner, Australian heldentenor Stuart Skelton takes the title role, with South African soprano Elza van den Heever playing Ellen Orford.
On 17th June 2014 our new production of Benvenuto Cellini will be the next production to be screened live*. Benvenuto Cellini is directed by Monty Python legend Terry Gilliam and stars Michael Spyres as the infamous Italian goldsmith and sculptor.
ENO Screen broadcasts will be produced by Serpent Productions, led by MTV award-winning director and Grammy award-nominee Andy Morahan and Producer Dione Orrom.
