Support The Winter’s Tale

The Shakespeare 400 celebrations continue at ENO with this exciting world premiere, an adaptation of The Winter’s Tale.

This exciting new commission is written by Composer-in-Residence Ryan Wigglesworth, directed by eminent British actor Rory Kinnear making his directing debut, and designed by seasoned opera and theatre designer Vicki Mortimer.

The outstanding cast includes three British major international singers whose careers have been nurtured at ENO: Iain Paterson, acknowledged as among the leading Wagnerian bass-baritone of his generation; soprano Sophie Bevan, whose roles for the company have ranged from Handel to Mozart to Strauss; and baritone Leigh Melrose, a definitive Wozzeck at ENO.

They are joined by mezzo-soprano Susan Bickley, whose performance in Between Worlds and Thebans at ENO were highly acclaimed, and current and former ENO Harewood Artists Samantha Price and Anthony Gregory.
