Community Membership
Our Community Membership Scheme is open and free to all community groups who support people that may normally face barriers to attending opera or the creative arts.
We are particularly committed to opening our doors to local charities and organisations who support individuals and groups in and around Westminster.
We currently have around 100 community groups signed up to this scheme.
Our community member groups will have access to exclusive benefits such as:
- Free tickets to ENO Dress Rehearsals, Performances and Relaxed Performances
- Pre-show talks
- Backstage tours of the Coliseum
- Creative workshops
If you are a community group leader and would like to apply to be part of the Community Membership Scheme, please fill in your details below, you will then be prompted to complete a longer form via email.
“Thank you so much for these tickets, the residents love them..and we brought 5 residents who had never been before. One of our ladies says she remembers hearing Rigoletto when she was young on the National Radio. Thanks again, so appreciate these tickets.”Community group leader after attending ENO’s Dress Rehearsal of Rigoletto, October 2024.
“I have always been aware of the power of communal singing by the usual routes, church, school choir etc. but it wasn’t until today that I realised how POWERFUL it can be. Literally feeling the physical power of being feet away from magnificent human voices… I felt the vibration, I heard the mingling of voices, I heard the mixing of different ranges – I absorbed the joy. This is very healing.”– Community group member after attending a singing workshop on stage at the London Coliseum, February 2025
Community Partnership
Our Community Partnerships aim to develop our existing relationships with community organisations who have been engaging with us through our Community Membership Scheme and would like to continue this creative collaboration in a more in depth way.
Community Partnership projects can be tailored to the needs and wants of the group, including the number of sessions involved, the content that we explore together and the desired outcomes for the group.
A recent Community Partner project was The Magic Flute Singing Project with local community groups River House Trust, Open Age, Age UK Westminster, Drama for Healing, Unfold and Westminster LGBT+ Forum.
This project saw us deliver four workshops in each community centre, looking at the music, stories and characters within Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, singing parts of the music together as a group, as well as hearing ENO opera singers up close.
For the project finale, all groups came together to perform on stage at The London Coliseum Theatre and were invited to watch ENO’s performance of The Magic Flute.
If you would like to express an interest in becoming a Community Partner, please get in touch at [email protected].
Our Magic Flute Singing Project was generously supported by Westminster City Council.
“Something I shall remember for a long time and tell people about.”Community partner group member after taking part in the Magic Flute Singing Project, March 2024.
“Thank you again for organising such incredible sessions at our women support groups, they have been greatly appreciated.”Community partner group leader, January 2025.
