British/Irish conductor, BBC Music Magazine Rising Star and “name to watch” (Observer) Olivia Clarke trained at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, University of Oxford and the International Conducting Academy Berlin, Universität der Künste. 

Clarke was English National Opera’s Mackerras Conducting Fellow (2020-2023) and Assistant Conductor to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (2022-2023). Clarke has held Music Director titles with Norfolk Into Opera Festival, Sinfonie Orchester Steglitz in Berlin and the Kelvin Choir in Glasgow.  

Recent engagements includes work with National Symphony Orchestra Ireland, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Welsh National Opera, The Royal Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Academy Opera (Die Zauberflote), Britten Sinfonia (Savitri), Hallé, IF Opera, Bridges Kammerorchester, Opéra de Rouen Normandie, Royal Northern Sinfonia, Sinfonia Smith Square, Sinfonia Viva, and Glyndebourne (Il turco in Italia) 

 

ENO engagements include: Carmen, Cunning Little Vixen, ENO Orchestra in concert with the National Opera Studio.
