Carolyn Dobbin graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, was an Associate Artist at Welsh National Opera and soloist at the Luzern Theatre, Switzerland.
Her extensive range of engagements includes appearances with RTVE Madrid, BBC TV & RADIO 3, RTE, Operavision, ARTtv and Swiss radio, and performances at the Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre and the Edinburgh International Festival.
Previously for ENO, Florence Pike in Albert Herring, Scipio in Caligula and Hannah in The Passenger.

Carolyn’s recent engagements include Beethoven 9th Symphony at the Barbican and with the Ulster Orchestra, Mahler Symphony No. 2, Mary in Der Fliegende Holländer for Irish National Opera, Mistress Quickly in Falstaff at the St Endellion Festival, a BBC Radio 3 Recital in Glenarm, soloist in the St Matthew Passion at the Royal Festival Hall, Madam Larina in Eugene Onegin for NIopera, Sorceress in Dido for OCI in Berlin, Siegrune in Die Walküre for LFO, Marquis of Berkenfield in La Fille du Régiment and Lene in La Ciociara for Wexford International Festival Opera, Cornelia in Giulio Cesare for ETO, Annina & Flora in La Traviata for Stadtteater Bern, Fenena in Nabucco for DO and The Witch in Hansel and Gretel for INO, and she will have an opera written for her by Conor Mitchell.
Carolyn researches and rediscovers manuscripts of Northern Irish art songs which she then records in collaboration with Delphian Records, the first ‘Calen-o’, the second focusing on all-female composers and the third, songs of Charles Wood with Roderick Williams and Calen-o.
