Everyone at English National Opera (ENO) is deeply saddened to learn of the death of soprano Dame Felicity Lott, known for her exceptional voice, unique connection to sung text and a captivating presence that enchanted audiences worldwide.
Renowned as a recitalist and concert performer, she was equally at home on the operatic stage.
Felicity made her operatic and ENO debut as Pamina in The Magic Flute in 1975, and she last performed with the Company as the leading role in La Belle Hélène in 2006.
Her other performances included Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni.
She was loved and admired by all who were lucky enough to work with her. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.
