Andreas Fuchs is a German lighting designer who designs for opera, theatre, dance, exhibitions and permanent architectural installations.

Career Highlights

He has worked with Claus Peymann, Stefan Bachmann, Daniel Libeskind, Aletta Collins, Herzog and de Meuron, Gil Mehmert, Bolshoi Ballet, Achim Freyer, Giorgio Armani, Tina Lanik, Volker Schlöndorff, Vera Nemirova, Rebecca Horn and Richard Jones. Since 1992 he has enjoyed a close collaboration with Robert Wilson, lighting productions including Three Sisters, Der Ring des Nibelungen, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Leonce and Lena, Hamlet, Die Dreigroschenoper, Shakespeare’s Sonnets, and Das kleine Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern. His lighting designs have been seen at the Opéra Monte Carlo, Festival de Théâtre des Amériques Montreal, Salzburg Festival, BAM NY, Opéra Bastille, Staatsoper Berlin, La Monnaie Brussels, Zürich Opera House, Venice Biennale, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Barbican Centre, Edinburgh International Festival, Manchester International Festival, Opera North, Sadler´s Wells Theatre, Nationalteatret Oslo, Dramaten Stockholm, Lincoln Center New York and Ruhrtriennale. He has collaborated with Aletta Collins on various projects since 2005.
