Ashley Riches studied at GSMD, he was a member of the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the ROH from 2012–14 and is currently a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist.

Previously for ENO: Count The Marriage of Figaro, Pirate King The Pirates of Penzance, Schaunard.

Career Highlights

Notable engagements elsewhere: Owen Wingrave (Opéra National de Lorraine); Guglielmo (Garsington); and his debut with the LSO/Rattle in Bernstein’s Wonderful Town, Moralès Carmen, Osmano L’Ormindo, Michael in the world premiere of Eichberg’s Glare (ROH); Eugene Onegin (Ryedale Festival). In concert, he has sung Claudio Béatrice et Bénédict (SCO/Ticciati); Polyphemus Acis and Galatea and Purcell’s The Fairy Queen (AAM/Egarr); Apollo Apollo e Dafne (Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra, Hungary); Pollux Castor and Pollux (Early Opera Company/Curnyn). Particular highlights include the UK premiere of Shostakovich’s Orango (RPO/Esa-Pekka Salonen) and his recent debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker under Sir John Eliot Gardiner as Creon in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex.
