Best ENO moment?
Many. Mostly involving Strauss, Mozart or Handel .

How did you start?
My father was a school music teacher. My sister and brother and I were allowed to try lots of the instruments in the school music cupboard and I ended up with the cello. I think I liked it because it was big but I was probably steered towards it because my dad wanted a bass instrument for the family ensemble!

Passion outside of opera?
I spend a lot of time in my garden.
