Opera credits include: Otello, The Magic Flute, Samson et Delilah, Two Boys (Metropolitan Opera); Carmen (Chicago Lyric, Houston Grand Opera); Death and The Powers, Moby Dick (Dallas Opera).

Broadway: My Fair Lady, Anastasia, Oslo, M Butterfly, She Loves Me, Fiddler on the Roof, The Father, The King and I, On the Twentieth Century, The Bridges of Madison County, Golden Boy, Spiderman – Turn Off the Dark, Ragtime, Movin’ Out, The Boy from Oz, Thoroughly Modern Millie and many others. He has designed over fifty Broadway productions, is the recipient of two Tony awards (The Lion King, South Pacific) and thirteen Tony nominations.

Television/Film: recent projects include Smash seasons 1 and 2 (NBC Dreamworks); Oceans Eight (Warner Bros Pictures). He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama and a Professor of Lighting Design at Rutgers University.
