Winner of the Elizabeth Connell Prize at the International Singing Competition for Dramatic Sopranos in Sydney, Katie Lowe studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal College of Music and the Wales International Academy of Voice, returning to the RNCM to complete the International Artist Diploma Course studying with Susan Roper, supported by the Sir John Fisher Foundation.

Currently for ENO: Freia The RhinegoldThis is her ENO debut.

Career Highlights

A Samling Scholar, her awards further include a Josephine Baker Trust Award a Countess of Munster Award, the Sybil Tutton Award MBF, the Ian Fleming MB, the Robin Kay Memorial Prize, a Dennis O’Neill Foundation Award and an Independent Opera Postgraduate Voice Fellowship.

Since graduating, her engagements have included Dama Macbeth for The Grange Festival, Brünnhilde in Act 3 of Götterdämmerung for The Mastersingers and Helmwige Die Walküre for Longborough Festival Opera. The Rhinegold is her debut with English National Opera.

Her upcoming engagements include Third Norn Götterdämmerung for Longborough Festival Opera and her debut at La Monnaie as Helmwige Die Walküre.
