Career Highlights

Noteable engagements include: Revival of A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum (RNT); The Magic Flute (WNO); Satyagraha, The Pearl Fishers (ENO, Metropolitan Opera, New York); L’amour de loin (ENO, Canadian Opera Company); The Enchanted Island (Met). Dance credits include designing productions for Momento Mori and Temesis, Danny Champion of the World, Beasts and Beauties (Spike Theatre); Edmund the leaned pig (Manchester Royal Exchange); Beauty and the Beast (Improbable and Young Vic). He won the critics award for best design in theatre 2012–13 for Ménage à trois (Scottish National Theatre);  Mackie Messer (Salzburg Festival 2015). He is also an associate lecturer at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts.

Awards: One of the first projects he worked on with Phelim McDermott was the multi-award winning Shockheaded Peter, for which he was an Olivier Award nominee. He went on to work on the redesign of this show for the Hamburg’s Schauspielhaus, as well as an off-Broadway production for which he was also nominated best costume designer.

Other highlights: Beauty and the Beast, Shockheaded Peter (Improbable); Ménage à Trois (National Theatre of Scotland); Edmund the Learned Pig, Danny Diva (Fittings Theatre Company); Sink or Swim, Danny Champion of the World, Beasts and Beauties (Spike Theatre); Tmesis, Momento Mori, Anima, The Dreadful Hours (Tmesis Theatre Company); A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (RNT). In addition to costume design for theatre, film and dance, he also lectures in costume design and production.
