Ruth is a young British opera director with ten years’ experience working at the UK’s major houses. This season’s highlights include directing a brand-new concert staging of Britten’s Gloriana at the London Coliseum, where Ruth is a staff director.

Also at ENO, she has been staff director on Christof Loy’s acclaimed Tosca, and will work with Annilese Miskimmon on The Dead City (Die Tote Stadt) in the Spring 2023. Ruth is also assisting on her third ‘Die Zauberflöte’ revival at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden this winter, and will revive her children’s opera Spinning Yarns in the Clore Studio for the Royal Opera House ‘Family Sundays’ in 2023.

Ruth will finish the season at Garsington Opera, where she will assist Christopher Luscombe on The Barber of Seville. 2022 has also taken Ruth to the Barcelona Liceu and to Germany, where she directed Die Fledermaus for the Berlin Opera Academy.
