Discover Opera Days - Application Form

Our Discover Opera Days offer an opportunity to give children in Years 3-6 an active and exciting introduction to opera-making and the jobs and skills involved in making and performing opera at the ENO’s home of the London Coliseum.

Discover Opera Days offer an opportunity for pupils in Years 3 – 6 to experience an exciting introduction to opera-making at the English National Opera. We invite schools to come and experience an interactive tour of the London Coliseum Theatre, hear an opera singer perform up close, have an opportunity to handle props and try on costumes from past productions as well as taking part in a workshop based around singing, music, storytelling and drama.
We welcome a maximum of 32 pupils per class and where possible try to accommodate year groups with more than 1 class. We require at least 1 teacher/chaperone per 10 pupils.

Hear what previous schools thought:

“It was AMAZING! Engaging, exciting, informative and so much fun. The kids loved it and several said it was the best day of their lives! Best trip I’ve been on in 20 years of teaching!” – Teacher

“The tour, the opportunity to dress up and to see backstage, and hear an opera singer, AND compose, was just so invaluable and I appreciate the time and effort you put into it so that our kids could have such a wonderful, enriching experience.” – Teacher

“It was fantastic, the kids I brought along are not any that would normally access anything like this, so it was an unusual, new experience but as kids do, afterwards when chatting about it in class they were so appreciative that a new experience had opened up this new understanding of a whole world of music, through this very unique and hands on experience.” – Teacher
