What’s new for 2026-27?
- Finish This… for KS3 classes is back! Following a successful pilot adapting our new stimulus piece, Plant This Seed for KS3 classes, we are delighted to be rolling out to secondary schools across England for 2026-27! Please head to our Finish This… secondary page to find out more about what’s on offer…
- We are excited to be partnering with One Education, Manchester’s Music Service, to offer Primary and SEND schools in Manchester an enhanced version of the project, including some in-person events. Schools in these areas will be contacted directly following booking to be informed about the additional opportunities available to them.
- Building on successful partnerships with these music hubs in 2025/26, we will continue to partner with Bolton Music Service, Wigan Music Service, Luton Music Service and South Coast Music Partnership to provide some additional opportunities to schools in these areas. These schools will be contacted directly following booking to be informed about details.
- We are streamlining submission dates, so there will be a shared deadline for all pathways, and for both Blue, Red, Yellow and Plant This Seed, these are as follows:
- Wednesday 16th December 2026
- Wednesday 24th March 2027
- We are removing the limit on the number of classes you can sign up! You are now free to sign up as many classes as you wish, the more the merrier!
- Our online project briefings will now be pre-recorded videos sent to you at the end of the summer term, along with a link and password to the online hub. We hope this allows teachers to do some planning over the summer if they so wish.
- For Primary and SEND schools, there will be a Live online Q&A session in early September. This will be an optional, drop in session where teachers are welcome to come along with their questions, ask for advice or hear from other teachers who have run the project before. This session will be hosted by our Finish This… teacher champions, classroom teachers who have run the project many times before!
And what has not changed
- Our online hubs will continue to be password protected – passwords will be changed in the summer so if you have previously taken part, you will need to sign up again this year to regain access. This helps us to track who is using the project so we can report back to funders.
- You will still have access to the same excellent resources across both compositions.
- Your school’s work will continue to feature on our interactive map on the ENO website.
- For Primary and SEND schools, a number of the Blue, Red, Yellow compositions will be chosen to be made into animations, and a number of the Plant This Seed will receive bespoke illustrations.
- Primary and SEND schools will continue to have the choice of working with Blue, Red, Yellow or Plant This Seed. Please refer to our ‘Choose Your Opera’ documents to help you decide which one is right for you and your class:
