'The Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in 2004. The night before it had rained more than you would believe. Less than it would in 2005, granted, but we are still talking rivers. Now the festival had crawled out of its various tents to see English National Opera break new Glastonbury ground by performing a very small part of Wagner’s Ring.'
