"ENO has a proud history of innovation, artistic excellence and making opera accessible to the widest possible audience. I’ve already been inspired by the passion, talent and ambition of the people, partners and supporters who make ENO such a special organisation, and I’m really looking forward to collaborating to create extraordinary work for audiences in London, Greater Manchester and beyond. Opera has the power to move, challenge and connect us. I'm excited to help shape a future in which even more people can experience that power for generations to come.”Helen Shute, Chief Executive Officer of ENO and London Coliseum Limited
"We are delighted to welcome Helen to ENO and the London Coliseum. Helen joins the company at an exciting moment, bringing a dynamic combination of creative vision, strategic insight and operational excellence. As we look ahead to ENO's centenary and beyond, the Board is confident that Helen's leadership will help the company build on its remarkable achievements and realise its ambitions across London, Greater Manchester and nationally. Together with Annilese Miskimmon and André de Ridder’s artistic leadership, Helen joins an organisation with an extraordinary artistic heritage and an exciting future ahead. On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank Paul Reeve for his outstanding contribution as Interim CEO. We look forward to working with Helen and the entire company as ENO enters this next chapter."Louise Jefferys, Chair of the ENO Board
Helen joins ENO from Rambert, where she was Chief Executive and Executive Producer for nine years. During her time at Rambert, Helen led an ambitious programme of new commissions and major revivals, working with partners including The Royal Ballet and Manchester International Festival. She expanded the company’s national and international reach and strengthened its position as a leading contemporary dance organisation. She succeeds Jenny Mollica, who stepped down in May after six years with the company. Since then, Paul Reeve served as Interim CEO.
