Stuart Murphy, former Chief Executive, honoured in HM The King's New Year Honours List

Everyone at the ENO is delighted by the news that Stuart Murphy has been awarded a CBE for services to opera in the New Year Honours List 2024.

During his tenure as Chief Executive, Stuart pioneered the free tickets for Under 21s and discounted tickets for Under 35s schemes to make opera more accessible for all, and during the pandemic, the ENO manufactured scrubs for NHS staff, and created and developed the ENO Breathe programme – a social prescribing programme for people recovering from long-Covid in partnership with medics from Imperial College NHS Trusts.

ENO also congratulates Jessica Pulay who has been awarded a CBE. Jessica is the Chair of the Wallace Collection. Until recently, Jessica had been a very committed trustee on the ENO Board.
