Ben designs lighting for stage productions across the UK and internationally. His work has been seen in venues ranging from small, intimate spaces to some of Europe’s largest opera houses.

Having lit the original production of Trial by Jury in Glasgow, this double bill with The Zoo marks Ben’s ENO debut. 

Recent designs for opera include Turandot, The Merry Widow and ll Trittico (Scottish Opera), Don Quichotte (Opera de Lausanne), La Traviata, Amadigi di Gaula (Buxton International Festival), Rodelinda, Fidelio, Un girono di regno (Garsington Opera), Cavalleria Rusticana and Pagliacci (Greek National Opera), Don Pasquale, Falstaff, Trouble in Tahiti (Opera North) and Cherubin (The Royal Academy of Music). 

Theatre work includes A Little Night Music (Buxton International Festival), Odyssey: A Heroic Pantomime (Jermyn Street Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Theatre by the Lake), Unicorns Almost (Bristol Old Vic) and the UK Tour of This House. Ben has also collaborated with the Royal Ballet, lighting their Draft Works festival. 

Projects as associate lighting designer include Macbeth (Palau de les Arts, Valencia), The Inheritance (West End and Broadway) and The Lehman Trilogy (West End).
