In the 2026/27 season, American soprano Heidi Stober will return to San Francisco Opera to reprise the title role for her critically acclaimed performance (and English National Opera debut) in Thea Musgrave’s Mary, Queen of Scots, as well as return to the Metropolitan Opera for Musetta in La bohème, Deutsche Oper Berlin as Pat Nixon in Nixon in China, and the Hyōgo Performing Arts Center in Japan for Pamina in Die Zauberflöte.
Finally, Ms. Stober will make a house and role debut as Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro with the Royal Danish Opera and join conductor Eun Sun Kim for performances of Poulenc’s Gloria with the Colorado Symphony. Highlights of recent seasons include a debut in the title role in Strauss’ Daphne with Seattle Opera, Gretel in Hansel und Gretel with the Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden, and in concert, Debussy’s La Damoiselle élue with Sir Donald Runnicles and the Dresden Philharmonic, Euridice in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice with Jane Glover and Music of the Baroque in Chicago, Berg’s Seven Early Songs with the Pannon Philharmonic in Hungary, and a Japanese tour of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the New Japan Philharmonic.
