Australian soprano Lauren Fagan has rapidly established herself as one of her generation’s most compelling singing actresses, acclaimed for her ‘glossy, commanding sound’ and ‘magnificent dramatic power.’
In the 2025/26 season, Lauren starred in a new production of Rusalka for the Royal Swedish Opera, directed by Netia Jones and conducted by Alan Gilbert, earning widespread critical acclaim. She also made her debut as Elsa in Wagner’s Lohengrin at Klaipėda Festival and Midsummer Vilnius Festival, returned to Sydney as Tatyana (Eugene Onegin) with Opera Australia, and with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra sang Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 under Simone Young. Later in the season she appears as Vanessa at the Festival dei due Mondi in Spoleto under Sora Elisabeth Lee, directed by Leo Muscato, followed by Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) with the Canadian Opera Company under Johannes Debus and directed by Atom Egoyan.
