Welsh baritone Steffan Lloyd Owen is the winner of the 2025 Paris Opera Competition and the 2025 Joseph Palet Competition, and a member of the International Opera Studio at Zürich Opera. He is a current ENO Harewood Artist.

There he has sung Marullo (Rigoletto), Silvano (Un ballo in Maschera), Hermann (Les Contes d’Hoffmann) and the title role in the Studio’s Gianni Schicchi. In 2024 he made his debut as Escamillo (La tragédie de Carmen) at Buxton Festival, praised as “striking” by The Times. Other appearances include The Doctor in Verdi’s Macbeth (Mid Wales Opera), Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (Opera Cymru) and Ragondin with Welsh National Opera. Concert highlights include Mozart’s Requiem with the Orchestre National de Bretagne and Beethoven’s Mass in C with the BBC National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales.
