Welcome to ENO’s Annual Appeal!

The classic story of true love, magic pumpkins, and evil stepmothers gets turned upside down in Rossini’s retelling of the family-favourite fairytale. Cinderella (La Cenerentola) doesn’t have a glass slipper and a magical godmother like the Disney movie, but a beautiful bracelet and Alidoro, a philosopher, as her helper to meet the prince. But the opera does not lose any of the story’s magic with Rossini’s charming melodies and a spell-binding libretto by Jacopo Ferretti.

Rossini’s 20th opera, which he wrote when he was only 25 years old, will open our 2025/26 Season, and we cannot wait to share this outstanding new production with you!
