English National Opera is founded on the belief that opera of the highest quality should be accessible to everyone
ENO will be synonymous with making great opera accessible to the widest and most diverse audiences.
We will continue to forge ground-breaking collaborations across art forms. Our world-class productions will inspire, surprise, and captivate.
We will be recognised as the national centre of excellence for developing opera, and as the benchmark for nurturing new talent.
We will reach out to communities who might think opera is not for them.
We will tell the world’s most timeless stories, unforgettably.
For over 100 years we have been dedicated to making the highest quality opera available to the widest possible audience – a mission as relevant today as it has ever been.
English National Opera is a charity that can trace its roots back to 1898.
2016 marked the 85th anniversary of the first performance of Carmen by the Vic-Wells Opera Company and 2018 marks the 50th anniversary of opera arriving at the London Coliseum.
