In an exciting UK premiere, celebrated performance artist Marina Abramović made her ENO debut with her production of 7 Deaths of Maria Callas. Exploring the life, work and death of one of opera’s greatest stars, our staging marked 100 years since the American-born Greek soprano’s birth.

And we’re thrilled that Marina Abramović is nominated in the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Opera’ category at the Olivier Awards, the most prestigious awards event in UK theatre, for her concept and design of 7 Deaths of Maria Callas.

In addition, two ENO operas from early 2023, Blue and The Rhinegold have both been nominated in the ‘Best New Opera Production’ category.

Relaxed Performances at ENO

The ENO’s relaxed performance programme continued with Iolanthe, The Magic Flute and The Barber of Seville performed in a relaxed setting.

Nurturing talent for the future of opera

At ENO we are committed to nurturing talent for the future of opera and creating magic on stage with our talent development programme ENO Harewood Artists . All 8 of our singers delighted audiences on stage during this season

At the ENO, we believe in creating extraordinary encounters with opera, on stage and beyond. We sing in English to be accessible to the widest possible audience, as well as offering free tickets for under 21s, and for as little as £10 for everyone else.

We create opera that feels different, theatrical, and creatively daring and have been doing this to an internationally recognised standard since being founded in 1931 as Sadler’s Wells Opera.

We hope to see you next season!
