Born in Hong Kong and based in the UK, Freddie Tong gained a Masters in Music and graduated from the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He has sung over 30 operatic roles which includes Nourabad in The Pearl Fishers, Monterone in Rigoletto for English National Opera (ENO); The Cardinal in The Duchess of Malfi for ENO and Punchdrunk Theatre; The Bong Tree in The Owl and The Pussycat for the Royal Opera House; Imperial Commissioner in Madam Butterfly for Scottish Opera; Dr. Bartolo in The Barber of Seville and Dulcamara in L’Elisir D’Amore for Grange Park Opera; Masetto in Don Giovanni for Opera Holland Park; Sulpice in La Fille du Régiment, Angelotti in Tosca for Diva Opera; Colline in La Bohème, Speaker in The Magic Flute, Il Frate in Don Carlo, Le Bailli in Werther, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor in Hong Kong; Dancairo in Carmen in Singapore; Figaro in The Marriage of Figaro and Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni for the Zeist Music Festival in Holland.
