Jamie made his main stage directing debut at the English National Opera with The Cunning Little Vixen, which transferred to the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto in 2024.

In recent years, he has also directed Paul Bunyan and The Day After at ENO and Eugene Onegin at the Buxton Festival Opera. Jamie has worked regularly as an Associate Director for Matthew Warchus at the Old Vic Theatre, where he was responsible for remounting Warchus’s Tony Award-winning production of A Christmas Carol in locations worldwide, including at the Old Vic, Broadway, San Francisco and Melbourne. 

Over the past decade, Jamie has served as an Associate Director and Staff Director at both the English National Opera and the Old Vic Theatre. During this time, he has collaborated with renowned directors such as Matthew Warchus, Deborah Warner, Richard Jones, Katy Rudd, Michael Gracey, Benedict Andrews, Phelim McDermott, Max Webster, Rory Kinnear, Simon McBurney, Daniel Kramer, Peter Sellars, and Calixto Bieito. 

Recent Opera credits include Verdi’s Ernani (Buxton Festival); The Magic Flute (Royal Academy of Music); L’infidelta delusa (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), La traviata (Nevill Holt Opera). Theatre credits include The Tomorrow Gala (Old Vic) and several productions with his company Duelling Productions: The Norman Conquests, August: Osage County, Punk Rock, A Single Act and No Quarter. 

He has also worked extensively as a revival and associate director, contributing to acclaimed productions such as Fidelio at Garsington Opera, Carmen at English National Opera, Billy Budd at Royal Opera House, and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry at Chichester Festival Theatre.
