Jamie made his main stage directing debut at the English National Opera with The Cunning Little Vixen, which transferred to the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto in 2024.
Jamie is a London-based theatre and opera director, twice nominated for an Olivier Award for his productions of The Cunning Little Vixen and Paul Bunyan at English National Opera.
His recent Opera credits include Verdi’s Ernani, Eugene Onegin (Buxton Festival); The Cunning Little Vixen (ENO and Canadian Opera); La traviata (Nevill Holt Opera); Paul Bunyan, The Day After (ENO); The Magic Flute (Royal Academy of Music); L’infidelta delusa (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland).
Theatre credits: The Tomorrow Gala (Old Vic) and several productions with his company Duelling Productions: The Norman Conquests, August: Osage County, Punk Rock, A Single Act and No Quarter.
He has also worked extensively as a revival and associate director, contributing to acclaimed productions such as Fidelio (Garsington Opera), Carmen (English National Opera), The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry (Chichester Festival Theatre), A Christmas Carol (Old Vic, Broadway and Australia), the latter winning five Tony Awards, and King Lear (Old Vic).
