Rowan Pierce was awarded the President’s Award by the Prince of Wales at the RCM in 2017. Prizes include both the Song and First Prize at the inaugural Grange Festival International Singing Competition, and she has recently been made a Rising Star of the OAE and an ENO Harewood Artist.

Career Highlights

Notable engagements elsewhere: Drusilla Poppea, Galatea, Iris Semele, Susanna, Miss Wordsworth/Emmie/Cis Albert Herring, Princesse L’enfant et les sortilèges. She has appeared in concert throughout Europe and in South America with ensembles including Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort, Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBCSSO, CBSO, Florilegium and Royal Northern Sinfonia. In 2017 she made her BBC Proms debut with the OAE and her Wigmore Hall debut with the London Handel Players.

Forthcoming: Papagena (ENO); Barbarina (Nevill Holt Opera and The Grange Festival); various roles in performances and recordings of King Arthur and The Fairy Queen (Gabrieli Consort); festival performances include collaborations with Sir Thomas Allen and Christopher Glynn (Ryedale Festival), Dame Ann Murray and Malcolm Martineau (Oxford Lieder Festival) and Roger Vignoles (Leeds Lieder); concerts with Rotterdam Philharmonic, AAM, Gabrieli Consort, BBCSSO, La Nuova Musica, Early Opera Company and RLPO; recordings include sessions with RLPO, Gabrieli Consort and AAM.
