Segomotso comes from Thaba Nchu, South Africa, and is a recent MPerf graduate in Opera Performance of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, under the tutelage of Susan Waters.

Career Highlights

She received her first professional training at Gauteng Opera, and then furthered her studies at the North West University. After her studies, she joined the young artist programme at Cape Town Opera and later made the move to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. There she performed various opera scenes, and the title role of Cendrillon by Viardot, and the role of Lucy from Menotti’s The Telephone.

Recent engagements include the 2022 Glyndebourne Festival as part of the chorus, where she performed in The Wreckers (also BBC Proms), Le nozze di Figaro, La bohème and Don Pasquale.

She has been supported by the Lord & Lady Lurgan Trust Scholarship; Gwen Catley Scholarship (The Amar-Franses & Foster-Jenkins Trust); Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers’ Scholarship; Oppenheimer Memorial Trust; Drake Calleja Trust.
