For ENO his roles spanning 40 years ranged from Papageno in The Magic Flute and Tonio in Pagliacci to the title role in the world premiere of Dame Judith Weir’s [Blond Eckbert](https://www.eno.org/discover-opera/operas/an-introduction-to-blond– eckbert/).

Nicholas Folwell

As well as being a fine singer, Nicholas was also a knowledgeable teacher and more recently an excellent diction coach. Elsewhere, being of German descent himself, He particularly thrived in roles such as Beckmesser and Alberich.

A hugely likeable man who always had a good story to tell, he will be much missed, and we send our condolences to his wife Susanna Tudor-Thomas, a member of our chorus, and the rest of his family.
