After graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland Carolyn was an Associate Artist at Welsh National Opera and then soloist at Luzern Theatre, Switzerland for two years.

Upcoming and recent performances include a BBC Radio 3 recital at Glenarm festival with Simon Lepper, St Matthew’s Passion with the Bach Choir at the Royal Festival Hall, Mistress Quickly in Falstaff at St Endellion Festival conducted by Paul Daniel, Mary in Der Fliegende Holländer for Irish National Opera, Madam Larina in Eugene Onegin for OperaNI conducted by Dominic Limburg, Siegrune in Die Walküre for Longborough Festival Opera, Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas with Opera Collective Ireland AKAMUS Baroque Orchestra and Christian Curnyn in Berlin, Dvorak Stabat Mater with the Ulster Orchestra and Jac van Steen.

Carolyn has spent many years researching and rediscovering music manuscripts and forgotten songs by northern Irish composers which she then records in collaboration with Delphian Records. Recent CD releases include songs of female composers from the north of ireland and another with Roderick Williams on Charles Woods songs both of which were accompanied by Iain burnside.

Recently she performed the Marquis of Berkenfield in La fille du Regiment and Lene in La Ciociara for Wexford International Festival Opera, Cornelia in Giulio Cesare for ETO, Mary in Der Fliegende Holländer with Sir Bryn Terfel & Anthony Negus at Grange Park Opera.

Other CDs include Calen-o for Delphian Records, A Song More Silent with London Mozart players for Chandos, Ethel Smyth’s Fete Gallant conducted by Odeline de la Martinez and Loders Raymond and Agnes conducted by Richard Bonynge for Retrospect Opera , a CD of Fräulein Bixel and Herr Glück for Gossau Zurich.
