Jonathan Miller’s classic production returns to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the director’s ENO debut.
When Mimì knocks at the door of four impoverished friends, Rodolfo answers and it’s love at first sight. Conducted by Alexander Joel, Puccini‘s moving score follows Mimì and Rodolfo’s love unfolding from its joyful beginnings to the heartbreak of her death.
Making their ENO debuts are Natalya Romaniw as Mimì, lyric tenor Jonathan Tetelman, singing the role of Rodolfo, and baritone Nicholas Lester as Marcello.
With Nadine Benjamin as Musetta, David Soar as Colline and Harewood Artists Bozidar Smiljanic and Matthew Durkan sharing Schaunard, this Bohème promises to be an exceptional musical and theatrical treat.
'Natalya Romaniw’s Mimì touches the heights'
