Production Guidance

All ENO productions have been conceived and rehearsed respecting and supporting the performers and the themes involved.

Unless stated below, our operas are suitable for anyone age 5+.

Carmen

Our suggested age guidance for Carmen is 15+.

This production contains: depictions of alcohol consumption, blood, domestic violence, drug use, foul language, murder, nudity, sudden loud screams, scenes of a sexual nature, sexual assault, use of non-tobacco electronic cigarettes.

The ENO takes the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people very seriously.

This production has been created and rehearsed within a safe, choreographed environment, supervised with both a fight director and an intimacy coordinator. The children in this piece have been closely supported through the rehearsal and staging process, and directed in such a way as to prevent their exposure to inappropriate content.

The Rhinegold

Our suggested age guidance for The Rhinegold is 12+.

This production contains full-frontal male nudity at the start of the performance.

Our suggested age guidance for Akhnaten is 12+.

This production contains ritual dressing and undressing of a man which includes some full-frontal male nudity.

The Dead City

Our suggested age guidance for The Dead City (Die Tote Stadt) is 12+.

Our production deals with themes of loss. It may be triggering for those who have experienced a loss or who are on a health journey.

There will be sex and death on stage, visuals of coffins, and hair loss.

Blue

Our suggested age guidance for Blue is 12+.

This production contains themes and descriptions of personal and systemic racist violence, and loss of a family member. There is limited use of strong language, including slurs.
