ENO Breathe, developed by ENO in collaboration with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, is an award-winning evidence-based online programme designed to support those experiencing breathlessness associated with long COVID.
Now expanded to 89 NHS Partners nationally, the programme has, to date, helped more than 4,400 people with long COVID across England.
By combining gentle breathing techniques with the calming power of singing, ENO Breathe helps participants manage breathlessness, reduce anxiety, and regain confidence in their breathing.
As the landscape of long Covid care pathways are rapidly changing across England, this digital development funding comes at a pivotal moment for the ENO Breathe programme. The focus of the development is to enhance the digital participant experience of the current programme, and diversify the programme, expanding to support people with breathlessness from other conditions (COPD and asthma), as well as look to develop a self-led, offline version of the programme, with more open access.
‘We are thrilled to have been selected to join the Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator Program. This transformative support will strengthen the infrastructure of our award-winning creative health programme, ENO Breathe – ensuring we can provide a digital experience of the highest standards for our participants. Having supported thousands of people across the country in their recovery from long COVID, we look forward to helping many more as the programme expands to support people living with diagnoses of other Airway diseases, such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and asthma. We are immensely grateful to Bloomberg Philanthropies for supporting us at such a pivotal time in our digital journey for ENO Breathe.’Jenny Mollica, CEO of English National Opera
