Aigul Akhmetshina is considered one of today’s promising stars in the opera world and has been hailed for her “immaculate voice” and “delicate timbre.” She made history when she became the youngest Belvedere Competition Winner who debuted at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Carmen at the age of 21.

Since then she has made major debuts at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real, and Deutsche Oper Berlin.

Her current and upcoming performances include the title role of Carmen, Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Charlotta Werther for the Royal Opera House, Angelina Cenerentola, Carmen for Teatro Real in Madrid, Maddalena Rigoletto for the Metropolitan Opera, Rosina Il Barbiere di Siviglia Opera de Paris, Elisabetta Maria Stuarda Dutch National Opera, Carmen Deutsche Oper Berlin, Olga Eugene Onegin for San Francisco Opera.

Future engagements include debuts at the Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, and returns to Teatro Real, Opera de Paris, Royal Opera House, Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Zurich Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Theater an der Wien among others.
