Soraya Mafi was born in Lancashire and graduated from the Royal College of Music. She won the Maggie Teyte Prize in 2014 and took Second Prize in the 2015 Kathleen Ferrier Awards.

She has sung Peep-Bo The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company at Buxton Opera House), Second Witch Dido and Aeneas (BBC Radio 3) and Second Woman Dido and Aeneas (Silk Opera). She made her debut at Grange Park Opera as Constance Dialogues des Carmélites, returning as First Niece Peter Grimes, and her debut at the Châtelet Theatre Paris as Aminta Il re pastore. This season her engagements include Johanna Sweeney Todd (WNO) and her first Despina (West Green House Opera).
