Soraya Mafi is one of the ENO Harewood Artists. She was born in Lancashire and graduated from the Royal College of Music.

Previously for ENO: Papagena The Magic Flute, Edith Pirates of Penzance.

Career Highlights

Notable engagements elsewhere: Franzl The Cunning Little Vixen, Ida Die Fledermaus and Maria West Side Story (RNCM); La Virtù L’incoronazione di Poppea, Le Feu/Le Rossignol L’enfant et les sortilèges (RCM); and title role Arianna in Creta (London Handel Festival). She has sung Peep-Bo The Mikado (Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company at Buxton Opera House), Second Witch Dido and Aeneas (BBC Radio 3) and Second Woman Dido and Aeneas (Silk Opera). She made her debut at Grange Park Opera as Constance Dialogues des Carmélites, returning as First Niece Peter Grimes, and her debut at the Châtelet Theatre Paris as Aminta Il re pastore. This season her engagements include Johanna Sweeney Todd (WNO) and her first Despina (West Green House Opera).

Awards: Won the Maggie Teyte Prize in 2014 and took Second Prize in the 2015 Kathleen Ferrier Awards.
