What next?

If you have already booked with us:

  • You should soon receive a link to your agreement form which needs completing before the end of term.
  • Once we have received your agreement form, you will receive an acknowledgement email and your place will be confirmed.
  • All confirmed schools will be sent the link and password to our online hubs containing all of our Finish This… resources towards the end of the summer holidays.
  • Physical toolkits will be posted and arrive at your schools shortly before the beginning of term in September.

What's new for 2025-26?

 

  • We have a brand new unfinished opera for you to work with! We are delighted to be launching Elif Karlidag’s new, purposefully unfinished work, Plant This Seed. Plant This Seed will be offered alongside Omar Shahryar’s Blue, Red, Yellow, so for the first time teachers will have the chance to choose which composition you want to finish with your pupils! To help you decide which one is right for you, we have created this handy resource: Choose Your Opera (for KS2) or Choose Your Opera (for SEND).
  • We are excited to be partnering with Bolton Music Service, Wigan Music Service and Kent Music to offer schools in these areas an enhanced version of the project, including some in-person events. Schools in these areas will be contacted directly following booking to be informed about the additional opportunities available to them.
  • Building on successful partnerships with the music hubs in 2024/25, we will continue to partner with Luton Music Service to provide some additional opportunities to schools in this. Again schools will be contacted directly following booking to be informed about details.
  • There will be still be a choice of two submission deadlines, but where these fall in the year will depend on which composition you are working with:

For those working on Blue, Red, Yellow your submission deadlines are as follows: Wednesday 17th December 2025 or Friday 20th March 2026.
For those working on Plant This Seed your submission deadlines are as follows: Wednesday 21st January 2026 or Wednesday 29th April 2026.

  • In 2025-26 our KS3 strand of Finish This is paused; we look forward to taking this opportunity to review and rework the format and pilot a new approach and scheme of work to accompany our new Opera Plant This Seed by Elif Karlidag, using teacher feedback and recommendations from the pilot to further develop the lesson and resource material, ready for a relaunch in 2026-27.
    The Finish This… team will be running the pilot in Autumn 2025 with a limited number of secondary schools. If you are interested in taking part and supporting the development of our Secondary strand of Finish This…, please do get in touch on [email protected] – we’d love to hear from you.
    Otherwise, we hope to hear from you next year when we resume our secondary KS3 strand with a national relaunch. Complete our Expression of Interest Form to be the first to hear all about it!

And what has not changed

 

  • To continue our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, we will continue sending physical toolkits out on a one per teacher basis. They will also be optional, so if you prefer to work solely from digital resources you can opt to do so.
  • Our online hubs will continue to be password protected – passwords will be changed in the summer so if you have previously taken part, you will need to sign up again this year to regain access. This helps us to track who is using the project so we can report back to funders.
  • You will still have access to the same excellent resources across both compositions.
  • Your school’s work will continue to feature on our interactive map on the ENO website.
  • A number of compositions will be chosen to be made into animations.
