Irish soprano Ava Dodd studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music. She is a Harewood Artist at English National Opera, and was a 2024/25 Associate Artist for The Mozartists.
Ava’s performances in the 2025/26 season include Micaela Carmen with English National Opera, and Susanna The Marriage of Figaro in her debut with Scottish Opera, as well as the New Year’s Eve concert with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland.
Ava’s recent engagements include Tilburina The Critic at Wexford Festival Opera, Adina The Elixir of Love, Barbarina (covering Susanna) The Marriage of Figaro and Rosina The Barber of Seville at ENO, soprano soloist for Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s New Year Strauss Gala concerts, Sandrina La finta giardiniera with The Mozartists, Madeleine, Madame de Latour Le Postillon de Lonjumeau at Oper Frankfurt, Lauretta Gianni Schicchi for Heidenheim Opera Festival, Voice of the High Priestess Aida in Oper Frankfurt, Anne Trulove The Rake’s Progress and Lola Cavalleria Rusticana at the Verbier Festival, and Sonia L’Aube rouge and Fenimore Der Silbersee at the Opéra national de Lorraine.
Competition successes include being a prize-winner in the final of the Hans Gabor Belvedere International Singing Competition in 2022, winning the Boston district of the Met Opera Competition/ Laffont Competition and first prize in the International Grand Prix of Romania Trophaeum Artis Cantorum. Ava was a recipient of the 2023 Yves Paternot Prize from the Verbier Festival Academy, recognising her as the most accomplished and promising musician at the Academy.
Ava released her first EP Gems in 2024.
